It is all in your mind

I have been practicing mantras inconsistently for at least a decade. One of the mantras that has helped me through times of struggle and times of triumph is CAPABLE, WORTHY, DESERVING. I honestly do not remember the origin of this mantra... I’m excited to go back and see if I can piece together how these words came into my life in such a profound way. I am sure you will read about the origin eventually... I happen to have had drinks with my BryBry today and I believe he met my former work wife CheriseB (they have the same title and go to some meetings together so it was inevitable that they would find out about each other)... don’t worry, Mr Gold knows and respects them both! Cherise, who I want to write about when I have more time, and sobriety, introduced me to Robin Sharma (look him up), who introduced me to the idea of leading without a title. I mentioned this in a previous post and wanted to circle back because I believe he is connected to the development of this mantra in some way... Bryan and I were happy for at least an hour and discussing what each of us might write about this evening. I thought about the idea of appreciating ways of being, and then thought about how the idea of CAPABLE, WORTHY, DESERVING has helped me support the opening of a new NYC High School, has helped me get out of unhealthy relationships and into Gold ones, has helped me to muster up the courage to leave a job for the opportunity of a career and helps me get through the times when I am feeling like all I am is not enough. I have a picture of this mantra on my desk and it is my go to when I’m lost. I am not surprised that when I was at a loss in terms of who/ what I would appreciate in this post, that my guiding light illuminated the way. Despite the happiest of hours, the darkest of days and when I can’t see anything but obstacles in my path, I know I can speak the words: I am CAPABLE. I am WORTHY. I am DESERVING. I want to appreciate the small voice of good that I have built and that I am continuously reinforcing to support me when I need it. Thank you inner voice for the, mostly, good advice and company. Because of you, and your willingness to learn from my mistakes and grow from my successes, I can continuously remind myself that I am capable, worthy and deserving. Thank you, inner voice and mantras, for supporting me throughout it all. I am Gold because of you .
