It takes two to tango

I'm dancing y'all! This is day two and the call to inaction is strong, but I'm on the court, or the floor... I am actually sitting on the floor... What I'm saying is I will do it again.

Today has been all about me thinking about who I wanted to thank for the second day. Before I even had the space or opportunity to write, I put pressure on myself to have it done.

I was stressing myself out for no reason. I saw this amazing crossing guard at F East Broadway station. She really embodied what I have come to understand as "leading without a title", from Robin Sharma. Essentially, it was clear that she made a decision to be the best crossing guard she could be regardless of if people saw her or not... look Mr. Sharma up for more details if you want/need more.

I automatically thought 'I will say thank you to her! I have seen her act at the same high levels in the past..." And thus the journey began of who to thank for the second day. I went through many amazing stories, many that will be told, and decided to keep it simple and talk about the person who most immediately impacted me writing in this fashion, Bryan Glover.

Bryan came into my life about a year and a half ago and has literally made my work environment one that is intellectually challenging and stimulating while maintaining high levels of fun and fierceness. He is supporting our district with rethinking how we think about education through the 10 Principles of Modern Learning. He closed his presentation for the district team with a call to action and I immediately knew I wanted to challenge and motivate myself to write. I have had many a call to action. The way Bryan led the presentation made me feel encouraged. It was what I needed to hear at the right time. I want to write and this was the way I was going to support myself in doing it.

Thank you Bryan for helping me dive in! I am Gold today, and working on the next 28 day, one at a time, because of you!
